Sara Bax
- Vocalist/composer
Sara Bax is a composer and vocalist, but mostly an artist through music. Her work is an ode to realness: the beautiful and the ugly, raw and unpolished. She wants to take you to the centre of being, to make you feel the sparkles of magic that flow right there. If you put your head under water, your thoughts go still. Just like when you listen to her band. Bax utilises the power of every band member so, that the group together sounds like a single strong organ that paints the air with a rich color palette.
Her band consists of Boy Edgar Prize winner Jeroen van Vliet (piano), Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw member Angelo Verploegen (flügelhorn), young talents Joshua Herwig (cello) and Maximilian Hering (drums).
“A fascinating new voice, lyricist, composer, interpreter. With a keen sense of chamber music subtlety, from Latin rhythms to chanson flair… An album to listen to, read and discover.” – BR Klassik
“The pieces are color-tonal portraits the Dutch singer paints in the air, so to speak, with her versatile voice.” – Rondo Magazin
“Honest, unconventional, and without a mask.” – Jazzism
