Alessandro Fongaro
bassist, composer, and educator
Alessandro Fongaro (IT) is known for skilfully blending a rough and explosive edge with a personal expressiveness and a sensible feel for melodies in both his playing and composing. With his most recent project Pietre, he performed, among others, at the North Sea Jazz Festival, BIMHUIS, De Doelen, Injazz, Ham Sessions Gent, Stadtgarten Köln, De Ruimte, etc.
As a sideman for bands such as the Sun-Mi Hong Quintet, Tijn Wybenga’s AM.OK, Nicolò Ricci’s Ambergris and others, he has regularly been appearing in Europe’s most renowned clubs and festivals. Alessandro is also a member of the faculty team of the conservatory of Rotterdam (Codarts).
