Nils Fischer
percussionist, producer, educator
Nils Fischer loves music that moves people, touches their soul or just makes them happy! He enjoys moving his projects CaboCubaJazz, Timbazo and Nueva Manteca with a track record from multiple appearances at North Sea Jazz Festival to events such as Havana Jazz, Borneo Jazz, Bangkok Jazz and tours in Canada, Israel, Colombia and in many European countries. Nils appears on more than 50 albums as a session percussionist, his own albums are often collaborations with international top artists and receive rave reviews internationally – they are present on several ‘best of the year’ lists. Nils has shared the stage with such legendary figures as Pío Leiva, Orestes Vilató, Armando Peraza, Paquito D’Rivera, Michel Camilo and Chocolate Armenteros. Since 2018, Nils is head of the Latin American music department of Codarts (Rotterdam’s Conservatory).
