Ping-En Hung

Ping-En Hung, born in Taipei (Taiwan) in 1993, the electronics artist, bassist, and composer Ping- En Hung has been residing and studying in Amsterdam since 2016.

Ping-En’s versatility in art seamlessly traverses genres from modern jazz to classical contemporary and electronic music. Venturing into multidisciplinary artistry, Ping-En specialises in cooperating with choreographers to craft theatre performances, elevating storytelling through the language of movement and sonic experience.

Ping-En is actively engaged in the contemporary music scene in the Netherlands. Her performances and artistic works have been showcased at esteemed venues and festivals, including Frascati (compositions for Ming-Jou Chen), Muziekgebouw, JazzFest Amsterdam, ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag), Bimhuis, and Space is the Place, among others. In addition to her work as a musician, she is also a researcher specialising in sensor technology and interactive art.

The influence of Chinese philosophy holds a special place in Ping-En’s heart, rooted in her mother’s profession as a Chinese literature teacher. This influence brings her unique perspectives toward her current life-based in Europe.
