Sam Newbould

“A pearl in the jazz catch of the day” – NRC (NL)

Yorkshire-born saxophonist Sam Newbould leads an award winning five piece international line-up emerging from the vibrant Amsterdam jazz scene. Described as “mindblowing, sometimes introverted and intimate and then exuberant again” (SWN Talent Award, NL), their music combines virtuosity with driving grooves and playful melodies that stick in your head.

With their most recent album Homing nominated for an Edison Award, and recent performances at major festivals and venues including Jazzahead 2025, North Sea Jazz Festival (NL), Love Supreme (UK), BIMHUIS (NL), and the Vortex (UK), the quintet has secured its place on the international jazz scene.

On October 16th the band will release their highly anticipated fourth album One day we’ll have a window on Dutch-based Dox Records with a release tour including the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. The lineup features Bernard van Rossum (tenor saxophone), Xavi Torres (piano), Jort Terwijn (bass) and Guy Salamon (drums).
