About Alessandro Fongaro
Italian bassist, composer, and educator, Alessandro Fongaro, is known for skilfully blending a rough and explosive edge in both his playing and composing, with a personal expressiveness and a sensible feel for melodies. With his most recent project Pietre, he performed, among others, at the North Sea Jazz Festival, BIMHUIS, De Doelen, Injazz, Ham Sessions Gent, Stadtgarten Köln, De Ruimte, etc.
As a sideman for bands such as the Sun-Mi Hong Quintet, Tijn Wybenga’s AM.OK, Nicolò Ricci’s Ambergris and others, he has regularly been appearing in Europe’s most renowned clubs and festivals. Alessandro is currently a member of the faculty team of the conservatory of Rotterdam (Codarts).

George Dumitriu is a poly-instrumentalist performer and composer, internationally active in the fields of jazz, improvised music, contemporary classical and music theatre. He is known for his mastery of viola, violin, and guitar and a unique approach to live electronics. A vast international career characterized by collaborations with Ambrose Akinmusire, Eve Risser’s L’ensemble Ensemble, Kaja Draksler Octet, North Sea String Quartet, Michel Godard, Blink Quartet, Sanem Kalfa Duo, Joachim Badenhorst – Black Sea Songs, Alex Simu Quintet, Re-fuse, the National Opera & Ballet Amsterdam, DUMItRIO, and more.
His solo project Monk on Viola is gaining remarkable reviews worldwide.
